Skype and Facebook integrated for video callingExecutives of Skype confirmed that PSTN (public switched telephone network) voice calling will be soon available in Facebook since it is included in the upcoming video-calling service improvement. However, Skype did not yet reveal if Facebook users will be required to apply Facebook credits, considering that it’s a paid service.

Facebook also announced that their more than 750 million users will be expecting new and additional features for the following days. Also, the leading social network added that they are renovating the Google group features, with the most anticipated feature of video chat.

Facebook’s engineer who worked on the development team, Philip Su stated that when users who message each other most regularly will be receiving prompts in trying out their video chat feature. However, Su emphasized that added elements in Facebook-Skype’s next version is not yet definite.

On the other hand, Skype’s global business development director Scott Miller clarified that they are planning to include PSTN calling into phones.

Additionally, Miller expressed that they consider Facebook-Skype integration as a high priority as Skype will also be added in the mobile application of the social network.

As of today, the integration of Facebook and Skype is comparatively simple than Skype’s features to their PC clients. Executives explained that the video calling’s new feature will allow its users to tick on an icon found on the chat window of Facebook. If the user does not have the application yet, then it can be downloadable within thirty seconds and ready for use.

The chief executive of the social network Mark Zuckerberg stated that this new feature is considerably the easiest way in connecting through a video.
